Catalyst Fine Art Gallery officially opened 4 years ago this month! We’re so grateful for the support of The Lodge at St. Edward State Park, Pacific Northwest artists, our creative community, and supporters. We’re excited to celebrate the growth of our artists and the expansion of arts programs in collaboration with The Lodge.
In just 4 years, Catalyst Fine Art has shown artworks from over 130 local artists, created dozens of free arts events, hosted pop-up exhibitions, live demonstrations, featured and juried an exhibition for local arts organization, and created workshops supporting local artisans and small businesses. Catalyst has enjoyed curating local musicians and performing artists for events at The Lodge at St. Edward Park and recently launched Immersion Experiences to bring guests for private studio tours hosted by featured local artists followed by a wine paired dinner hosted by the artist at Cedar + Elm. Each year, we are able to feature dozens of local non-profits, bringing awareness to their programs and celebrating all that they do for our broader communities.
As I began to write this thank you letter and reflect on the past 4 years, I opened my original mission statement from 2020, with the intent of reminding myself what my goals were for creating a business and what my participation in supporting the arts should look and feel like. Catalyst is a Fine Art Gallery with a diverse mission, and has never planned to be a typical gallery, but rather a collaborative part of the broader arts community. Here is what my mission statement is and always has been:
Catalyst Fine Art is committed to furthering the Pacific Northwest’s recognition as a thriving arts community by facilitating and creating opportunities that support local visual and performing artists, which will develop a larger audience, cultivate patrons, and connect with the broader community through events, online representation, and an accessible and visible presence.
Catalyst Fine Art values:
Collaboration and connections
Transparency and creativity
Mentoring and support
Career development
I am humbled by the expansiveness of what has been accomplished in just 4 years and so grateful for the connections, collaborators, and support I have received in sustaining my original mission. I look forward to celebrating the depth of artistic talents in the Pacific Northwest as we continue to grow and bring awareness to the diversity of our arts community.
We; Catalyst artists, collaborators, staff, and I, want to take a moment to thank and celebrate the collectors who support our local arts community. Collecting local art supports the creativity and livelihood of artists. It helps sustain their craft and allows them to continue creating and sharing their vision with the world. We are excited to look ahead as we continue our efforts to connect visitors and our local community through art.
With gratitude,
Kamela Daniels
