During the month of December\, Catalyst’s main gallery is filled with work from over 40 local artists surrounded by 9 beautifully decorated holiday trees\, transforming the main gallery into the Gallery of Giving Trees. Each tree highlights a local non-profit organization\, with information about their mission and programs\, along with ways you can donate. Beautiful music will fill the gallery every Wednesday in December from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Stop in to enjoy the music performed by local high school musicians\, support these young musicians by donating to their fundraising efforts\, and stroll the gallery for local gift ideas. December Music in the Gallery Schedule. Limited edition Lodge at St. Edward Park blown glass ornaments for 2025 have arrived! Hand-blown by Tacoma-based Catalyst artist Oliver Doriss\, these custom ornaments are made in a small run of 30\, each year with a unique design by the artist. Come collect your 2025 ornaments before they are gone. Jewelry created by Grateful Arts\, spearheaded by our artist Robert Bank\, is sharing a portion of their proceeds with additional non-profits. Come check out his beautiful glass jewelry and learn more about the non-profits they are partnering with. Fused Glass Lodge ornaments created by Connie Munford are available in the main lobby. Connie has designed and created unique ornaments with images from some of the Lodge’s most iconic elements.   Be sure to stop in on Sunday\, December 28th from 4-6pm for our monthly ArtWalk. DESCRIPTION:Come learn to paint in the Russian Impressionist tradition with still lives and portrait models in a beautifully restored seminary 25 minutes north of Seattle. The class is set up to take each student at their own level through the basics of oil painting with still lifes and/or portraits. \nWednesday evening before the workshop begins\, come watch a free live model\, portrait painting demonstration by Pam\, where there will be lots of time for questions afterwards. The next 4 days will be an immersion into learning how to paint. Plan to get inspired and walk away with new skills. All levels of experience are very welcome! DESCRIPTION:About Pam: \nPam Ingalls is a local Pacific Northwest Artist currently living on Vashon Island. Pam has a degree in art from Gonzaga University’s art department and studied art at the Accademia Di Belle Arti in Florence\, Italy. Her award-winning work has been showcased in over 125 national and international exhibitions\, including features in Southwest Art Magazine\, American Art Collector\, and American Arts Magazine.  \n“I paint simple things – the things I see\, am attached to\, and love. Every subject contains an essence that belongs to just that moment. I get to be with that feeling while I translate it into the poetry of paint. As I become more aware\, I keep learning that truth is everywhere. Painting is my way to see and tell the truth. I hope that I’ll inspire others to look twice at the beauty of their everyday lives…and to find their own way of expressing that.” \nWorkshop Details  \nOn Wednesday evening\, March 6th\, there will be a free live portrait demonstration\, open to the public. Participants are encouraged to join\, ask questions and meet Pam before the workshop begins the next morning.  \nThe workshop will be on the following four days\, March 7th – 10th\, where you will learn how to paint\, or improve your skills under Pam’s guidance. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for this amazing workshop led by Pam Ingalls\, where you will learn to paint in the Russian Impressionist tradition with still lives and portrait models in The Lodge at St Edward State Park. The class is set up to take each student at their own level through the basics of oil painting with still lives and/or portraits. Wednesday evening 3/15\, come watch a painting demonstration\, where there will be lots of time for questions at the end. The next 4 days will be an immersion into learning how to paint. Plan to get inspired and walk away with new skills. All levels of experience are very welcome! The cost is $600.
