Catalyst curates live music in the Lodge at St Edward State Park

September 1st marked our first Jazz at the park outdoor music event, but that wasn’t the first music performance we curated for the Lodge.

Catalyst Fine Art was created to support the development of local artists and their careers by creating opportunities, and events that expanded their visibility and networking opportunities. It was a natural extension of the program to collaborate with local musicians to learn what they need and follow up by creating performance opportunities and support increasing their visibility along the way. Artists, artisans and musicians are in important and positive contribution to our community and cultural development and have a long history in this historic building as part of traditional seminarian education, as well as a strong presence in our surrounding communities. I grew up with with artists and musicians as a large part of my community and chose to raise my family in an artist centered community. Supporting these talents and people who have inspired so many others is what motivated me to create Catalyst.

Catalyst began creating the music programming in the Lodge when the opportunity came to bring in a pianist to play the beautiful 1913 Chickering & Sons grand piano in Cedar + Elm on Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday brunch service was then complimented by beautiful Harp music and Thursday evenings are now infused with acoustic guitar and occasional special guest appearances by various local musicians sitting in on a set. As our music portion of the program expands, you will see more opportunities for local musicians in partnership with The Lodge at St Edward State Park. Keep an eye on the calendars for upcoming events and more opportunities to see all that these artists have to offer and support the arts and local artists involved.
