Would you like to honor a special person(s) in your life or a historical figure(s), someone who has given you a meaningful experience or provided you with a life lesson? The Lodge at St. Edward Park will be hosting two collage workshops on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 to celebrate Women’s History month 2023, Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Story. Each workshop may be taken separate, or you can sign up for both. Small groups encouraged. Workshops will be limited to 15 participants each. Ages 15 and up please.
Collage: Paint with Paper Combined with Bookbinding
The first workshop, on Saturday, March 11 will combine painting with paper and book binding. You will create a collaged art journal from recycled materials in just one day. This art experience will take you on a journey of expression. The instructor, John Arbuckle, will lead you on a meaningful and enjoyable art adventure. You will learn a variety of collage techniques that will enhance your art experience. This workshop is open to all artists, beginners to advanced. Most materials will be provided in the workshop. A minimal supply list will be provided to you when you sign up.
Small but Mighty
The second workshop on Sunday, March 12 will introduce you to tiny collage making in an ATC (artist trading card) sized journal. This 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch book will become a treasure to keep or give as a gift. We will be using recycled materials in this workshop. A variety of different collage techniques will be introduced to provide you with an adventure into a miniature world. This workshop is open to artists at all levels. Most materials will be provided in the workshop. A minimal supply list will be provided to you when you sign up.
John Arbuckle has taught for over 45 years in elementary schools and middle schools; at adult education centers at a local college; festival workshops; and The Pacific NW Art School.
