Now Seattle no longer needs to stand on its toes in order to see Elliot Bay and the
Seattle Great “Ferris” Wheel (erected in 2012). As of 2025, the waterfront has been
transformed, from Belltown to Pioneer Square, into a 20-acre public park featuring a
new promenade, native landscaping, and pedestrian bridges that connect Pike Place
Market to the waterfront.
