Eleven fiberglass dragons were installed along Jackson and Dearborn Streets in the
International District in 2002. Designed by Meng Huang and Martin Brunt, they were
created to mark the boundaries of the District, and are a symbol of supreme power,
good fortune, imperial authority and strength. Specifically, our red dragon here
represents good luck, passion and prosperity, which I believe the woman below
suddenly understands, as time stops and joy ensues.
